The Maryhill Museum of Art celebrates 100 years since its dedication in 1926. Conceived by entrepreneur Samuel Hill, dancer and inventor Loïe Fuller, philanthropist Alma de Bretteville Spreckels, and Queen Marie of Romania, Maryhill Museum of Art is shaped by a shared vision of art and wonder in the most unexpected location. “There is a dream built into this place,” said Queen Marie in her 1926 dedication of the museum, “a dream for today and especially for tomorrow.”
